Frequently asked questions

Common answers to questions we get about walk-in cold rooms. Still have a question? Get in touch and we will be more than happy to help.

What’s the difference between a cold room and a freezer room?2022-12-21T13:32:41+00:00

The main difference is the temperature in the room. A cool room has a temperature around 1-10 degrees Celsius to keep produce cold and fresh. Whilst in a freezer room, the temperature is below zero degrees Celsius, keeping the produce frozen.

What is the ideal temperature for a walk-in cold room?2022-12-21T13:29:20+00:00

It’s best to have the cold room around 1 to 10 degrees Celsius. You don’t want your produce to freeze!

How long do cold rooms last?2022-12-21T13:26:56+00:00

A cold room that has been installed by a reputable contractor should last at least 8 to 12 years. And if you keep a regular maintenance and keep a good service record, the cold room and AC units should last much longer.

Do you need planning permission for a cold room?2022-12-23T12:00:32+00:00

You do not need planning permission to install a walk-in cold room.
